Clients v. Humans

I’ve tired of using the word “clients” to define who comes to see me. While “clients” is much better than it’s medical equivalent, “patient”, it’s still too dehumanizing for my taste. But I don’t pretend to have replacement. In fact, there is no replacement. If we replace “client”, the new term would meet the same dehumanizing fate.

So the next time a colleague asks me, “How many clients do you have?” I’m simply going to respond with “You mean how many people do I work with?”

Yeah. I like that much better.
